Yes They Are! Meeting and Greeting the Queerest of the Gods
A Ritual Theater Performance at the Crossroads of Spirituality and Sexuality

Date: Saturday, June 13, 2009
Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco
Street: 1187 Franklin Street at Geary
City/Town: San Francisco, CA

Description:

Throughout history, members of what is known today as the GLBTIQQ community held important positions in the priesthoods of various deities the world over. However, current traditions that emphasize ”fertile” relationships between Goddess and God and idealize a heterosexual “Great Rite” can relegate our experiences and sensibilities to the sidelines. But our very existence proves that there are purposes in life as important as procreation, and every purpose in life is represented by its own set of deities. Those of us, both women and men, who have formed or joined GLBTIQQ specific circles often find unexpected allies in our explorations of the world’s various pantheons. In this theatrical ritual, we’d like you to meet them. This performance includes sexually explicit material and may not be suitable for all age groups.
