Thanks everyone For all the support (& hugs) the past couple of weeks,
Its was challenging to take on some of the things that we are addressing
here. But I do Believe in Faeries(Claps hands).
The Naked Jack off guys, the Gawkers, the endless people walking threw the
village in wonderment, The Lady selling her stuff at the gate(who I had to ask
to move several times) They are all going to be easily dealt with next year...
In Fact I am SOOO excited about next year. Its very easy folks, everyone that
we know ei Faeries, Friends, and Others, we will all get either a stamp or a
wristband (what ever we decide as a group ... that being the FFV Circle) Maybe
we have both, wristbands for people helping and stamps for people that day who
knows.
This can happen before Pride with wristbands and that day with stamps. The
place where the open gate has been for the past couple of years would be the
Wristband/Stamp only gate, where we have monitors/Fay security folks, there
would be entrance and exit with "magical" gates, we are faeries.. cant we make
magic happen in any space we hold, we do it at our country community's why not
our City Faerie Freedom Village dwelling. The main entrance for the Muggles and
others will be on the other side (UN building side) they have to wait in a line
and be asked a Question, Smudged with sage or incense, blessed with glitter and
then they can have a stamp. Once they have a stamp/wristband then they can go
in or out freely from the other gate.
I am ASKING for everyone to help, no matter what... we are a part of
COMMUNITY, I am not a part of DEVA freedom village where everyone a part of
that community is being served. I love making things happen for Faerie Spaces
and served for Years at Short Mountain Sanctuary. I watched people come for
gatherings for years some would serve Feirce Fabulous Drag, be amazing
performers, DJs and many other extraordinaires. yet had nothing to do with
getting their hands into the makings of their own backdrops, food, or safe
space. Anotherwards get down off the Highheals and be supportive. Help your
sisters/brothers/friends, lets create community together next year and make our
FFV space SAFE COMMUNITY SANCTUARY from the hubbub of Pride.
I am asking everyone to be Faerie Ambassadors next year. If you have been
part of the Farie Community for a while then I am asking EVERYONE to actually
put in at least half an hour next year, that could be helping with setup or
takedown, it could be helping at the entrances/exits (for that we need the most
people really, its where the Positive or negative energy enters... or exits)
Maybe you help pick up some trash it was so messy this year (Faeries please...
are we that environmentally unconcious?{sorry couldn't help but say something} )
Mabey you help by bringing food to share with others or how about taking it on
yourself to walk up to folks that look bewildered and talk to them. All I am
saying is that it really takes a community to create the kind of space that we
are all looking for, and we are all part of this community. PLEASE SUPPORT ONE
ANOTHER.
I am honored to take on being the manager again next year, just so that
everyone knows and understands(if you didn't before) every Stage/Space at Pride,
legally has to have a "Stage Manager" BUT we are the only
non-commercial/community space of our kind at pride. Everywhere else that our
community's exist there isn't a "manager", we all have a part of making things
happen. So even if I am the manager I am a part of community. So starting in
Oct. we will start the circles for FFV 2010. Really it will be a great place
for us to have Potlucks and Chats and be supportive of each other. Not every
circle has to be like a meeting. Believe you me I have to go to the Pride
meetings all winter (required for the managers) ..... BORING(rolls eyes) I know
we are a community with many factions, I am hoping the FFV circle will be
different folks of our many Fays.
If You would like to be a part of ten FFV leaders come to the FFV
Circles starting in the fall, these leaders will be focusing on different
aspects of the village in fact here are the things that need the most attention.
1)Set up (Privacy fencing, gate setup, etc )
2)Decorations
3)Sacred Space holders(Creating the alter, setting the magical tone)
4)Food and Water
5)Security (gates protection and inside awareness,yes awareness)
6)Secretary
7)Stage manager (setting up performers line up and managing the Devas)
8)Equipment/sound person/s
9)Over night staff for the village/ so that we can have saturday
events
10)TakeDown Crew
There is also things like Fund raising and other things that we could use actual
help with
In fact I need to find a way to refund myself for the money I spent for village
things this year. It only cost about 1000 for all the rentals but I ended up
buying things out of my own pocket to help in the end. The Sisters were kind
enough to give us a Grant this year that covered our rental cost so be sure and
give them thanks for FFV support when ever you see them out.
Anyway I am Thankful for all the love we have for one another, lets keep
being patient with each other so we can all grow
